4.Gorgeous Gawthrop

A Sunday stroll to the tiny and picturesque hamlet of Gawthrop. Includes entry into the Dent Village Heritage Centre.
5.Flintergill and West
(6m  3hrs  Moderate)

Ascending Flintergill Outrake and then following the 'Occupation Road' eastward to High Pike. Descending via Deepdale's isolated valley. Stunning panoramic views of Dentdale and northern dales.
7.Cowgill & Back

Following the Postman's Path to the remote hamlet of Cowgill and returning by the Dales Way. A varied walk through farmland, forest and river, passing Dent Brewery.
8.Frostrow Fell

A climb over Dentdale's north western flank to open moorland and Frostrow Fell, returning via a riverside section of the Dales Way. Great views of the Howgills.
9.Great Knoutberry Hill

Starting at Cowgill, climbing past Dent Station to the summit of Great Knoutberry. Returning via Arten Gill and The Sportsman's Inn.
10.The Ascent of Whernside
(10.5m  6hrs  Challenging)
The classic Wainwright-inspired ascent of Whernside.
11.Rise Hill Ridge
(8m  5hrs  Challenging)
The full traverse of Rise Hill Ridge. A high-level walk offering unspoilt views over Dentdale, the Howgills and beyond.
12.Dent to Barbon Inn
(8m  Challenging)
A mostly high-level walk climbing above Combe Scar and onwards to Calf Top. Then following the slopes of Middleton Fell to Barbon Inn for a well-deserved pint and minibus back to Dent.

Easy - walks which are generally low-level, relatively short and accessible to most casual walkers.

Moderate - approx. half-day walks, which require a degree of fitness and appropriate walking gear.

Challenging - considerably longer distances, often over rugged, higher terrain and aimed at more experienced fell walkers.
